ichat problems

i've been having problems with ichat. it was working fine this morning and yesterday, but suddenly it locks up whenever i send anyone an IM, and i cant receive IMs from anybody. whats the deal here?

also...how do you open .bin files? i dled AIM.bin but i cant open it. any help?

Did you install any freeware for iChat? My friend had a similar problem when she upgraded to tiger. She had installed iCar with allowed for auto responses, but her iChat would always crash and quit with the new tiger iChat. She uninstalled and everything is fine.
