have have both iChat av 2.1 and aim.

now my iChat wont let me send files, pics, images, etc. basically not letting me direct connect. others can send me files just fine. and when some one sends me a file i can see it and when i send them a file they say they can see it but ichat is telling me "The AIM service could not send the message: [hresult 0x8000FFFF"

on my aim i can only direct connect with someone if they send me the invite. it wont let me send the direct connect.

ps im use a aiport card to connect to the internet.

can anyone help?

check your firewall and proxy server settings.

did you recently switch to a different internet connection?
did you get a new router?
does your router have the lastest firmware?
does the problem replicate with every single person? if it does it your problem, or your isp has a nat which disable you from doing all this nifty stuff.

btw a firewall will exist on your router/airport basestation

what kind of router is it? you haven't updated the firmware. you'd know if you did.
what isp service do you use? it could be your isp. for example with me, I only transfer file to people that or my isp network and not outside of them.
