In the keynote on june 6th, Steve Jobs mentions something about @me.com email addresses. When iCloud will launch, will we be able to get a @me.com email address for free?

No...the @mac address was only available to those that had the original .mac service. Once it changed to MobileMe, all the new email addresses issued were .me addresses. However, anyone with the original .mac address got to keep it (and will still be able to use them when iCloud comes online).

Does anyone know how many @me.com email accounts we can have? For example I currently use 2 gmail accounts, 1 for my family/friends and the other I use when I have to register at forums, websites, etc.

    Mobile @me.com address?

Really? I havent found anything that says that officially. I hope it is the case, but it sounds like they are burying MobileMe. I hope not, I want to use the iCloud service, but would prefer and @me.com address to an @icloud.com.

Did I miss something in the keynote? I will watch again.

In MobileMe, you can create additional @me addresses called aliases provided the names were available. You could have up to 7. If iCloud is the same - we don't know yet - you might be able to have additional. No mention of aliases so far.

    Thanks!

Ahhh! I just watched that segment on my iPhone and Steve mentions that you get a me.com address when you sign up for iCloud. Thank goodness. Monday night watching it streaming it kept stalling, so I skipped through some parts.

    Thanks for the quick answer!
