Ok...here's a question for you. Can you use iLife for commercial purposes. Now I read just read the SLA front to back and it didn't mention anything about not being able to use this commercially. The only place I see if mention anything about "not for commercial use" is the iLife family pack. It says that you must be in the same household and that it's not for commercial use. I have been using iDVD/iMovie to convert old home movies to DVD for family and friends the past several years and am looking to branch out and do this as a side business. I MIGHT be purchasing Final Cut Studio later this year, but I was still curious if I could use iLife for awhile until I upgrade to a Mactel and get Universal copy of FCS. Any thoughts?

I THINK that the only restrictions are on the family pack and education copies. For a regular copy I'm thinking you should be ok... I'm pretty sure that I read you can use GarageBand to make commercial projects, so I assume that the rest of iLife is the same. We're using it here at work to put together quick sample and demo DVDs, so hopefully I'm right!

I think its okay UNLESS your using a education version.

Some software companies offer students a chance to upgrade their edu version to comerical versions.

Nope...it is a version purchased at the Apple Store for $79. Like I said, I read the whole SLA about 10 times and couldn't find anything. I created this post because I am worried that I missed something. I mean, really, I doubt Apple Legal would come knocking at my door for using it to do videos for the folks at church. Not exactly a big operation, but, hey, I like to play by the rules. :)

Although I don't know the answer, not having read the license myself, I'd like to commend you, PeteyKohut, for asking the question in the first place.
