AI just started doing this to me...can't find why...
Whenever I resize text by pulling the handles, especially the corner handles but sometimes not by the side handles...it returns to the previous size when I let go of the handle. WHY?

If I convert to curves it works fine, but then it's not editable text...
I haven't changed any defaults that I'm aware of.

Help!

It's not snapping to a gride/smart guides or something like that?

Is this happening in all documents?

not all doc's

OK...opened new doc and it didn't happen.

However, when I copied the text from the wacked out layout and pasted into the new layout, the text did the same crazy resizing thing.

Still not sure, but think I'll just quarantine the original file and start fresh.

cut the text and then make a text box without making a box, so just tap the text tool anywhere on the screen and paste.

when you click and drag a box and paste, it becomes an editable text box that works like indesign. when you just click once to make a tiny box it makes it so you can free transform, but keeps the text editable.

im no guru, but i do use illustrator a lot
