I'm new too. What do people mean by "BTO" and "CTO"?

Never heard that one before. The most logical conclusion I can come to is "I've got to get food now". Close, or on the wrong track?

Actually those are initializations. Acronyms are pronounceable (e.g. NASA).
Credit to Grammar Girl, who does a really nice podcast in her spare time. Check it out at iTunes.

Back on track: Where is the option to disable putting my notebook to sleep everytime I close the lid?

Also: if I have a notebook with an external moniter, using it as two screens, and on the fly, I want to switch to one screen, the primary being the external. Is this possible, or do I have to restart each time?
