The only benefit to having it on the right, or the left, or the bottom for that matter, is that it's the position that best compliments how you yourself work and how you yourself like to organise your workspace.

If you've tried it on the right many times before but keep switching it back to the bottom of your screen, there's your answer – keep it where it works best for you.

The best place for the dock logically is on the left, because the items on the desktop are on the right, and you have more room horizontally than vertically.
I have my dock on the bottom, hidden because that is what I am comfortable with :)

Just like with everything else, it's a matter of preferance. I am currently toying with the "Dock on the Right" deal. I like it so far. And hey, wherever it's positioned, I can hide it with a quick keyboard command. Nothing wrong with playing;)

My first thoughts in seeing the title, better than docking on the left. :D
