Whenever this happens to me, I sleep on the couch.

    Seriously.

    Bugs FREAK ME OUT.

I'd just sleep on the couch tonight. It'll be gone by then.

Just remember that spiders are the good ones.. they eat mosquitos and other narsty bugs.

And spider blood? is it really THAT big??
    If so, I'd move.
I wouldn't take anything with me.. I'd just LEAVE that house.. I'd sleep at a friend's.
    Friggin tarantula in there! :scared:

Just use some bug spray, or you can't beat the good old fly swat. ;) I've found spiders don't have too much blood when you squash them. Let's hope there aren't any animal liberationists about, they'd want this thread banned lol.

yeah, pretty big... it is one of those ones that is fatter and have shorter legs. I don't mind the skinny ones with long legs that much.

I don't have any bug spray with me and everything is closed right now.

Just transferred to the living room with my laptop.

Woo hoo!!! Christmas eve on the couch!!!

Get a paper cup (or any cup you'd be willing to let touch a spider) and place it over the spider, trapping it inside. Then, get a piece of paper and slide it between the wall/floor/ceiling and the cup. Now you can lift the spider up and toss it outside far away from your house.
    Hope that Helps.

I'll come over and kick its arse for you.

Seriously though, it's more scared of you than you are of it.

Don't hurt it or spray it — use the cup method to put it outside if it bothers you that much...

    Yes, indeed.

But only attempt this is you are completely sterilised, with no skin open for the spider to touch. :p

If it were me I'd stay on the couch. ;)

i also think you should do the cup method.

what if you sleep on the couch, wait for the spider to go away, and it only comes back the next day in the middle of the night and crawls on your face???

get that thing OUT of the house!

For me with spiders it's kill or be killed.

But then, we have some nasty spiders down here.

Seconded (thirded, actually :)). I use this same technique on cockroaches, which I hate much more than spiders (it helps that our spiders are tame).

Spiders don't bother me. Snakes don't bother me.
But put a cricket anywhere near me and I scream like a girl. I have NO idea why that is. Perhaps because I decimated their population when I was 12 with a lighter and a can of Aqua Net, and it's payback time.

Spiders are met with the back of my hand, then the seat of my pants when they bother me. Otherwise I shoo them away. Spiders, snakes, bats, mice, rats, frogs....they don't bother me. Maybe it's the little boy in me. I used to enjoy catching frogs (on the rare event that I could find one), and playing with Daddy-Long-Legs' legs.

Is it REALLY a spider, or a listening device planted by the CIA, designed to capture all your xmas sounds for the day, so they can use them later while torturing you with their sensory deprevation techniques :) ?

Come now, that is a close-up picture. If you saw that thing in person it would look like the other cockroaches in your house if you indeed are filthy enough to have them as your permanent guests. ;) :D
