I have a Imac 27" i7 late 2009 (Model Identifier iMac11,1) and wanted to throw in a SSD drive (Crucial M4) to replace the optical drive. The hard drive is still good so I thought I could use the SSD as the boot drive and the old internal as the secondary drive. Is there any advantage to physically putting the SSD drive in place of the original hard drive. Are the cable connectors the same for the HD & optical? Any advice is appreciated!
