I got a top spec retina machine when they first launched.

Initially got the "graphics" error crashes and that was finally fixed in 10.10.3.

Now its been replaced with the above sleep wake error.

The whole point of me paying apple their ridiculous ram prices is so that I wouldn't have these incompatibility issues.

What is happening?!?

I doubt its got to do with the ram.

it points to 'authd' as the problematic process and its very random. The computer was sleeping and running for a good 4 days and then I rebooted it and the following morning it had crashed during the night.

Theres no pattern.

So you're having the sleep/wake issue with just Apple RAM? How much RAM is in the system?

Same here, I did send the kit back for exchange, I hope I'll get a "good" one back, otherwise I'll have to ask for a refund. :(

Sorry, I forgot about all this. I got a replacement kit from Crucial, and I don't have the sleep week failure anymore.

So I am having the same wake issues. I too have added the Crucial memory ships mentions. Aside form the Kingston, can anyone recommend chips that will work and not cause issues with sleep and wake?

I have the iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014)
with the original 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 from apple. And my iMac reboots every night. I'm running 10.10.4 and it was also happening with 10.10.3 and .2. I do have Dropbox will uninstall today. Any one else having this problem using any Razer keyboard or mouse ?
FYI i also have power nap enable.

I also have a late 2014 Mac mini, no problems.

Hi all
Just signed up to say i am having this issue.

A week ago Ig to an email from Apple saying I should probably replace my Fusion Drive at one of their stores.
So I took them up on this offer and got it replace for free even though I wasn't having any issues.

Ive been reinstalling things neatly for the last 4-5 days now and have noticed this sleep wake issue occur.

If I put the iMac (27" top spec i7 geforce 680mx late 2012) to sleep and wait between 60-75 minutes it'll reboot itself and after logging in it'll present me with a crash report for the sleep wake issue.

I'm a bit annoyed really. This installation on my mac could not be any cleaner yet I've had nothing but issues. (cubase is crashing all over the place)

It's nothing to do with ram.
Or mice or keyboards or anything like that. Its seems to be a bug in yosemite.

Were your forced to load Yosemite before Apple would do the repair?

Guys still not fixed with 10.10.4. Constant sleep wake failure messages. Computer just reboots. I can't believe I spent 5k on a 5k iMac that can't remain on for more than 48hrs.

4.0ghz, 1tb SSD, 32GB Ram, 295X

Re: Sleep wake error: I've seen some reviews on Crucial Branded ram causing this - a shame since Crucial has always been a bastion of Mac stability but check Amazon's reviews of the ram: it's the same bug - always when awakened from sleep.

So if you're running Crucial ram, remove it, then go with the stock memory for a while. If the issues still occur it may be hardware or software related but if it's stops it's most likely the ram.

The fact remains is we need someone with working aftermarket memory to report what works and what does not.

I have been running 32Gb of Crucial in my 5K Retina and no sleep issues. I bought mine from NewEgg.

I'm using 32gb of stock ram. This issue seems
To be tagged to the 295x. No one I know with the 290 is having sleep wake issues

FWIW:
My 5K iMac has shown no sleep/wake issues and it is on 24/7.
Configuration is: 32GB of Crucial RAM, i7 cpu, 295X GPU, 1TB SSD, OS X 10.10.4, external Thunderbay with 2 hard disks and 2 SSDs.

Possibly relevant: this iMac was one of the initial post-announce shipments. The Crucial RAM was purchased originally for a 2012 iMac and moved to the new one, so it is older production RAM.

Not tied to the 29x exclusively. Had issues and I have a 290x. You have simply not looked for information on the issue cause you don't have it. Plenty of posts all over, including crucial blogs about this issue.

Many have had issues despite your success. There are 2 different issues. Kernel panics which I did not have, and the iMac simple not waking up, which I had only when I added Crucial memory in combination with Apple memory. Removing Crucial resolved the issue. Adding OWC memory did not recreate the issue.

Is your 5K Retina bought from Apple with any hardware upgrades or is it a stock model?

Stock config.
Mine is stock to. I have had mine since March and added 16GB of Crucial with the 8GB of Apple memory and had one Kernel panic after three month of use so decided to take out the Apple memory and put 16GB of Crucial in and so far so good. I been building PC's and no better not mix memory. We will see how this goes with all Crucial in it.

I wish people would stop pointing at branded ram or GPUs or whatever else it is.
It's an OS X issue Apple need to sort out.

Hmm so how is it only some people are having this problem? If would affect all of it was a software issue.

Is anyone on El capital having the same issue?

Most people that I know who have Macs don't put them to sleep, they either shut them down or leave them on, so they would never know. I don't bother putting my iMac to sleep anymore, be guaranteed to get the "Sleep Wake Failure".
It would be interesting to know if anyone is using El Capitan with this issue.
