iMac Font Display

Hi everyone.

I just received my new 17" iMac today and I am very pleased with it, but I do have one small issue with it. Compared to my old eMac, text tends to look quite blocky and not very smooth. I have seen this as a general characteristic of flat-screen displays. I just wanted to know what font smoothing setting other iMac users use to try and rectify this problem. I love this computer, but fonts just look horrible on the screen!

There is an option for this in System Preferences let me find it.

Found it - go to System Preferences, than to Appearance, then at the bottom of the page there is an option called "font smoothing style". Mess with those options until you are happy.

You need to restart any open applications (including Sysprefs and Finder) to see the difference.
