Is it possible to hook up an iMac G3 to a Mac Book Pro for editing?

You mean to transfer files between the two? A firewire cable will work just fine, you can set either the iMac or the MBP to start in target disk mode, and mount it as an external drive.

I bet that editing will be insanely faster on the MBP than the G3 though. ;)

Guys, I didn't think you could target disk a PPC mac to an intel Mac?

    Why not? You can.
    EDIT:
Some operations might depend on the OS but I think you should be fine.. :)
