I have an iMac G4 800MHz that my kids have been using for a few years. last night it appears the HD finally bit the big one.

I know it's an ATA100, but anyone know of a good site that describes how they come out? I found a video on Youtube, but the person who put up the video omitted the good parts, like, the hard drive installation and a crap load of screws it looks like.

It's not really that bad. I've got the same computer, and I've upgraded the hard drive for more space and the optical drive for better performance. While you're in there, you might consider replacing the system battery. Mine died about two years ago and I almost scrapped the entire computer because it appeared like it was DOA.
