I just upgraded to a new iMac from my old 2007 one... The microphone recorded fine quality. However on the new one, it sounds like garbage. I've touched it up a bit EQ wise and it sounds a tiny bit better, but still pretty bad. Any thoughts?

Observation: the new one has 2 mics for noise canceling--relationship to my issues?

I don't have an iMac so can't test but I feel like if you're really that bothered by the quality of the microphone would it not be better to just get a proper external microphone?

Agreed with Joel.

If you want high-quality recording, get a good mic.

Are you just recording voice, or music as well?
