    Hi there,

My iMac turns on automatically sometimes. Though it has only happened a few times at random intervals. I'm wondering what might cause this. I have checked the Energy Saver options (Start up or wake) and the power up options are turned off.

Typical example that happened last night. I Shut Down, and this morning at around 9am it turned on.

Hmm, what else can I tell you. It has happened before where I unplug it (after shutting down) and then plug it back in and automatically after plugging it back in, though again, not all the time. And I have that option (Restart automatically after a power failure) in the Energy Saver turned off.

The only other thing I can think of is that I have the plugin Alarm Clock 2 that is supposed to wake my computer from Sleep, but I read on their website that it does not turn your computer on if it has been shut down. And, of course, I have it set to go off everyday, and this hasn't been happening everyday.

    I am running:
    iMac 20" 2.33 Core 2 Duo
    Version 10.4.9

Any ideas what this power on thing might be?

    Thanks!

What other scheduling do you have set up? Any iCal alarms, anything? Also, keep a log of when it happends, so you can try and find a pattern- becuase computers almost never do things at complete random, they usually have a pattern. But untill you gather more info, its hard to help. And if all else fails, bring it to the apple store.

Thanks, will do with noting when it happens, right now it seems completely random (which makes no sense to me).

There aren't any iCal things set up... or any other automatic things that I can think of.
