Well iMac was updated today, on Monday no less. iMac now has faster processor than PowerBook, 1.25Ghz G4 vs 1Ghz G4.

Now can we expect PowerBook update tomorrow, Tuesday? I have a feeling it might. If iMac got 1.25Ghz G4, shouldn't PowerBook get something just as fast, if not faster?

The problem with as fast or faster is that it consumes more power and thus less battery life. The 1GHz version consumes 15w, I couldn't find an exact number, but the 1.25GHz is probably at least 21 watts. I believe the 1.42 is at around 32 watts. The 7457 is much better suited since it uses ~10% more power then the 1GHz it replaces and provides a 30% increase in speed as well.
