Alright, I want to use Final Cut Pro 5 extensively. I'm going to be taking multiple production classes with it where we will no doubt need machines capable of running it. I know the Core 2 will be good enough, but I'm worried about the 128 MB x1600 video card. Those were common about 1.5 yrs ago in PCs. I don't have much money for a new computer, so a Mac Pro would be out of the question. Do you think a new iMac or at least video card update for iMacs will come out around or before Leopard's release? Or should I just build another PC?

    Thanks

FinalCut is Mac only, so you won't be able to build a PC and run it. The video card will be fine. If you already own the iMac you're stuck with it but if you are still in the process of buying it then you can upgrade it to the same card with 256mb VRAM if you feel that you really need to.

I still would have to buy other stuff as well to get the upgrade....ugh.

I'm thinking about just getting a refurb product through Apple.
