Imac video slowdown on 20" Vs. 17"

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if the 20" imac is visibly slower than the 17" when using expose on multiple windows etc... due to the higher resoultion. Or slower in general for any visuals based tasks.

I've noticed that a mac mini on a 20" screen is very choppy when using those effects...

Exposé works fine with 14 windows open on my 20" iMac with 512mb ram.

The video on a Mac Mini is a32MB ATI Radeon 9200 and the video on the iMac G5s is a 64MB NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra.

With that in mind, just doubling the video memory will make the performance that much better. Of course how much memory you have and what you are running will also afect that.

The iMac G5 will give better overall performance. Although if you dont have enough memory, that will hinder it's performance.

so running in a higher resolution on the 20" will make no real difference in comparison to the 17" on the same video card

No, it won't. Modern graphics cards have no trouble doing huge 2D resolutions.
