    Hello!
Does anyone know about a good (free) image resizing utility?
(for sorting images from my camera to be uploaded onto a website)
    Thank you!

iPhoto will export and resize your pics for you
Do you need something more than what it can do?

iPhoto will do it, so will Graphics converter if you have a Power* machine. Preview might but I am not sure.

I think it will scale and keep proportions
Actually does a quick and easy job

Beyond that, Graphic Converter is probably your best bet
Check here for information and download

well... I've got loads which i've taken off my camera and they're all way too big for what i need, so i was thinking about maybe some batch resizing utility might work. I was briefy trying to resize them in photoshop but found it impossible to get the file size, image size and pixel per inch just what i wanted without throwing the other things off.
    any ideas?

Graphic Converter is quicker and easier than Photoshop in that regard, and does do batch work.
