How much more black could this be?

    Mr. Anderson

    Is that a trick question?

Its been done before, krossfyter had it for a while.

Did you have trouble scaling it to fit the size requirement? ;)

Love the Ion source pic, used to make them a long time ago:)

  5. macrumors G3

The sad part is that I did play around with formats and color tables a bit to reduce the size.
  6. macrumors member

    Is it animated?
  7. macrumors G3

Okay, it's animated now, but that pushed the file size up from 103 to 245 octets. I hope the server can handle it.

It's animated to do what? Turn from black to black? ;) :D
  9. macrumors G3

Well yes, but it changes from black to black ten times a second, so you are presented with the illusion of a static black image.

This is really amazing. If I turn the power switch on my monitor off, your avatar stays exactly the same, while every other avatar disappears!
  11. macrumors 603

That doesn't happen with me. When my monitor goes off, his avatar expands, then covers up my whole screen, swallowing all the other avatars. Whoa...wait, let me try it again to be sure.

We should stop talking about this so much. As it is, when I close my eyes tonight, I'm pretty sure I'm going to see iMeowbot's avatar.
  13. macrumors G3

I see that my plan is succeeding. At this very moment, the relentless cascade of blackness is steadily consuming all the energy in the universe. Never mind you puny humans and your so-called contest, the cosmos are MINE, ALL MINE!
  14. macrumors member

You could always try adding a few frames to get it to run smoother.
  15. Administrator emeritus

yeah - it's hesitating every 4th frame for me which is really distracting...
  16. macrumors G3

All right, I have it up to 72 fps and added intermediate frames to smooth out the animation. You'll need at least a 500 MHz G4 to fully appreciate the effect, try closing other windows if there is continued roughness.
  17. macrumors 603

That's what I got! Looking sweet now.

Ah, s***. Now your avatar's all over my television screen... and my TI-89... and my BBQ dinner! *falls over unconscious, then wakes up and falls over again into an infinite recursion*
