Immersion sensors in the new MacBooks

    wow, that sucks.

    According to this poorly-translated article, there are two sensors under your keyboard that detect moisture, and permanently change color if you spill liquid on it, so that Apple can conveniently deny you your warranty coverage. That's pretty freaking lame if they get too picky about this. I wonder if they'll change color over time in humid environments...

    I wasn't aware that if I dumped coffee all over my macbook, or dunked it in the bathtub it would have been covered under warranty... but now buyers of the new macbooks won't have that luxury. :rolleyes:

    Seriously, if you get it wet, hopefully you've got insurance.

    It's more likely the tabs will be more for detecting disassembly by home repair geeks, or unauthorized mods. Just a guess.

    The problem is if it gets wet and later you have a completely unrelated problem they will just blame it on the liquid and you will have to pay for the repair.
