Sorry if this question sounds really dumb, but Ive been at the same job for 10 years and always converted to TIF before I made printer PDFs. Started a new job today and noticed .jpg and .psd files linked to Indesign files.

Are high res. .jpg and .psd files ok to use now when making a printer PDF (example: PDF-X1) in InDesign CS4? Ive always thought you needed to convert to TIF format.

Thanks in advance...

If your linked files are high enough resolution, jpgs, tiffs or Psds will all work just fine. When you make a PDF it doesn't really matter what format they were anyway.
