Individual folder views

is there a way in 10.10.3 that you can have, say, icon view for one folder, but list view for another.
It seems that if I choose folder view for the users home folder, all folders open like that unless I hold the option key down. That needs me to remember. Any ideas welcome

I fixed it ! Open a folder. Set the view you want...right click empty space...check always open in this view.
So any folder can have a preferred view option. All folders donot have to be the same, as I thought.
