Install packages in Xcode

    I haven't looked into this really but thought I'd start a little chat about creating installer packages with Xcode. What is provided out of the box with Xcode for creating installer packages for your applications? Are there good 3rd party tools that can be used?

    There is an app called "PackageMaker", which I presume is what most people use to make packages for OS X, though I have never used it. Ergo, I can't attest to its quality/ease of use/etc.

    PackageMaker allows you to set and install various different items.
    Let's say you had an application called MyBookEditor, now lets say you didn't bundle your icons, sounds, pictures or even you have extra sounds or pictures that aren't embedded into your application (e.g. bundle).
    With PackageMaker you could set it to copy files to where you want/need them to go.
    Package maker allows you to create Packages that you can send across networks via Netboot or Apple Remote Desktop.
    Package Maker just archives your files so the user can install the files if they specifically need items installed in specific areas. You wouldn't use Package Maker for a standalone app that had everything built into it (though you could, it'd just be a waste).
