    Yes, it sounds very odd.

I have the Sims house party that I am trying to install. Yet, it is the OS 9, not OS X version. I can get the patch only if the game is installed first. So, how could I install it, to apply the patch? When I try to, it says that it cannot open the file.

Is there some sort of emulator available?

Look on the website for The Sims, there should be a carbon update. That will make it run on OS X.

    My house!
OS 9 will never run on an Intel chip. OS is truely dead with the Intel switch. So if you have an Intel Mac and need OS 9 apps, your SOL!!!

Like Benjamindaines said, look on the website and there should be an OS X compatible one.
