If the new Apple Macs (note, these aren't being called PowerMacs) are capable of running Windows out of the box, it seems likely that consumers would load them up with both OS'. If that is the case, it seems even more likely that consumers will purchase the Windows version of games, which come out sooner and are typically cheaper and perform better than the Mac versions, effectively killing any of the Mac game porters like Aspyer and Macplay. The more time people spend in one OS over the other, the stronger the likelihood that it will become their prominent OS. Apple may be making reverse switchers without even knowing it. This would be alleviated bby making sure that OS X is so screamingly faster and better on Intel than Windows that no one would want to go back. I hope the Apple Macs are 64-bit and optimized for the new platform. Of course, I also hope that somebody releases a hack (Xfacto?) to install OS X on Intel on a home-built box that I am mulling over. That would be sweet!
