Seems a rather vague question. Can you please elaborate?

    ios dev: take two

    hey guys,

a bit more information would be helpful for my previous question.
On the iPad: let's say you need to spell t r e e in a simple game. The letters are on the screen. And my question is: what kind of image files is best for the letters? And the background can be anything, i suppose....?

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-gb) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

You could use PNGs, or use a font file (either one already existing on the system, or one that is packaged with your app).

Why use images when labels would probably suffice? Maybe explain more why you think images are the better approach for your needs.

    Hmm. Define "anything".
