IP over Firewire

    Weird that this came up in two different places by two different members almost at the same time. But gopher, this is not a rumor, make sure you put it in the correct forum next time.

    Not rumor? Think of the rumors this kind of thing presents? It certainly gives room for speculation as to what one could do with IP over Firewire and whether or not Firewire itself is going to now succeed Gigabit ethernet in its next iteration.
    Why would one want IP over Firewire unless one could use it in place of current ethernet networks? Of course Firewire speeds could exceed gigabit speed in the future. The question is, will they?
