The good thing about ideas is you are allowed to your own. I and plenty of people I know hate the larger phones- a phone that requires a special tapping feature as the 6/6+ have proves the things are too big.
6 it's okay for me, 4 it's handy but tiny right now.

I don't see why Apple would put an A9 instead of an A8. The A8 is more than adequate, saves on costs and is still being produced for the Apple TV.

How else would Apple force you buy higher tire model with larger margin? It cost you 100 dollars to go from 16 to 64 where actually cost bearly increase. You know how Apple generate such large amount of profit? This is part of the answer
There is a thing called progress.

Apple is not selling you Macbooks with 2gb RAM anymore, even though that would allow them upselling on the mac line.

It doesn't split things further. We already have to deal with 4", 4.7", and 5.5" - introducing another 4" phone is no big deal.

No, the thing that seems like a mistake to me is a lack of 3D Touch. The fewer phones that have 3D Touch, the less developers will bother taking advantage of it, the less reason there is for Apple to include 3D Touch on any phones at all.

If Apple wants 3D Touch to be a reason to go with iOS instead of Android, then it needs to be available on every iOS device, not just some of them.
The pressure sensitive thing are coming to android phones as well.

I think the iPhone 6c will be 16 and 32 GB of flash memory storage--with the 32 GB being a new flash memory chip design. That new flash memory chip will also be used on the iPhone 7/7+ models, so the local storage on the iPhone 7/7+ will be 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 B. The iPhone 6c will use a smaller-die A9 SoC, too.

it depends on the competition and sales figure.

1) 4" iPhone needed to keep the app developer keep developing for that resolution unless apple completely removes that resolution

2) entry level of iphone cost still a lot of money, with 4" (with current/latest specs) at $450 to $550 that solves that and 4.7" would be used for up sell

3) 4" mostly would have best battery life.

You think selling MacBook with 4GB RAM for 1500+ is not rip off? Apple will not do until it has to. Unfortunately, Apple just do not see the time is up for 16GB. I would doubt they willing to give up 16GB

id be surprised if it came with 2gb ram and force touch and was cheaper as it would draw a lot of people away from buying the 6s/6s+. I think one of those things has to give somewhere, perhaps it will be just marginally cheaper or have other features cut down?

Just to add, I was surprised they had 8GB RAM on Macbook.

I think they are adding more RAM because it is soldered (unlike before)

If it costs only $100 less than the proper iPhone 6S then its going to fail like the 5C did. There just isn't a good rationale for a cheap iPhone unless its actually "cheap"... granted Apple won't make a throw away phone but a $399 price tag feels right (which means $499 is likely) and lets them compete overseas where people can't afford $650+ on a phone.

Though anyone who absolutely needed a smaller screen size will be pleased.

What if C stands for Compact, and not Cheap as commonly thought of?

As long as it doesn't look like the 6 series, i'm excited. This rubbish about 2.5D glass makes me scared about antenna bands and pokey cameras.
mostly it is going to look like 6/6S. just shrink down version.

apple will not give any design features of iPhone 7 to this iPhone.

I think a spring release of a new iPhone model is a brilliant move by Apple.

Apple will be releasing a non-flagship phone that will get far more press than whatever flagship Samsung releases at the same time.
