I was thinking - because the digital keyboard on the iPhone is probably gonna be pretty small, wouldn't it be easy for people with big fingers to mash the wrong keys sometimes, or even overlapping over certain keyboards?

    Answer :

Couldn't Apple design a sort of smart text that detects the letters that were pushed and through possible combinations of letters "guess" the word you were going to type, much like the texting on regular cell phones work? Because of the less number of possibilities we wouldn't have to go through the "next.. next.. next" that we have to go through on our cell phones - what you were trying to type would be pinpointed much more efficiently like one of the Pearl's I saw that the cingular store the other day (the one where 2 letters share a button or what not)

Just a suggestion - people are worried about not being able to feel the buttons - maybe Apple has taken that into consideration and done this auto correct smart text.

I would not think there is a phone on the market that does not have predictive texting.

Mind you I am sure there are some down in the bargain basement world I just have never seen.

As pointed out though Apple do have predictive text like most phones.
