I've got a little problem with my ipod. About 6 months ago I bought a used iMac for about 400 dollars. The previous owner had a newer model 10GB Ipod with all the software already installed on this computer. anyways. Last week my girlfriend ordered an Ipod mini. So she gave me her old 5GB Ipod that had been initialized for a PC, but originally was a Mac Ipod. For some reason my Mac won't mount the ipod. I know it's not a firewall problem, because when I plug it into the mac the Ipod recharges. I hooked the ipod up to a mac at someone else's house and I reinitialized it putting his collection of songs onto the ipod. So as far as I know the Ipod has already been reinitialized back to mac, it just won't work for my Mac. I've tried holding down Play and Menu, and then holding down Previous and Next when the Apple logo shows up, but to no avail. A little help please? I have no idea what the problem is. Does this have anything to do with the fact that I'm using an older model 5GB ipod on a computer with the newer model 10GB ipod software installed on it?I don't have the CD with the old 5GB software for mac on it. And neither does my girlfriend (she has the PC software). Is there anywhere that I can download the old software? any help would be greatly appreciated.
