ok i'm aware of most of the ways to transfer music from an ipod to a mac. so i'm gonna try to explain this situation as clear as i can. i had a bunch of music on my ipod from my old laptop and when the laptop died i lost all of my music on it. so i pulled off all my music off my ipod and threw them back on my computer. the main problem all the music were tagged as AWASFS and other multiple letters. Itunes recognizes the artist, names, playcounts and everything so that is not a problem. the problem is how do i get the original song id tags back so i can put particular songs on another computer, or send a particular song to a friend. Now that the song artist and name is scrambled beyond belief is it even possible to recover the original tags since the originals were wiped out when my laptop died. i just got my first mac and want to move all my music from ipod to my mac, but i can't stand having the music look like AWDF. it's impossible to find a particular song if i'm trying to send it to someone. i know that the music folders stay organized, but the artist and song title would still be nice to see.

so is it possible to get the original file name back. for example The Strokes- Hard_To_Explain_fnt

What application did you use to get your songs back in the first place?

Did you take a look at Senuti?
