    Hi there,

I am new to this forum, and forgive me if the question was asked before (I could only find an old thread). I am considering buying an iPod speaker/dock. I was wondering if you all could share which ones you have and why or what was the decisive factor in terms of price, quality, dimensions, user interface, etc. like, KEF, JBL, B&W, Apple, Logitech, etc....

    Thanx in advance,

    Jay

I got one of those older JBL OnStage.
Its the best speaker I tried (though haven't tried that many), it fills my room nicely and though it is on the left side of my desk, my ears can't really tell.
Its built like a tank and takes up minimal space. I bought it on Black Friday and got it for $60, but now I'm a believer and I would pay full price for it.

Can't really tell you much about any other speaker, though.

The best bang for the buck is the Griffin Amplifi. You can get them from Amazon for $122. They sound amazing. They're also one of the few that will probably accept a docked iPod/iPhone since the well is so wide. I've got two of them.

Recently I read a lot of reviews to get some speakers for my father's birthday.
I found out these ones seem to be the best:

Logitech Pure-Fi Elite: Best reviews on the price range, a little too big if you need portability.

Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere: These are the ones we got, on sale for $60. The sound is amazing, the remote works great, and they come with a soft case for portability.

Athena iVoice: I was thinking of getting these one myself. It has great reviews, and looks nice. At the current price ($50), they are in the impulse-buy range...

You can check out the reviews over at iLounge.
