A CNN article on the new 40g iPod mentions it has secret capabilities. I want the 40g to have the ability to transmit music wirelessly via wifi to the airport express, just like iTunes does... is this a possibility?

    Negatory.

Apple wouldn't be able to hide the fact that it has wifi installed.

The only way that would be possible is with some sort of add on accessory, which may be very possible.

Maybe someone may be able to find some sort of Wireless test in the diagnostic screen. The diagnostic screen has been a great precuser to new accessories.

Yeah, and very ugly. An add-on to the iPod adding WiFi would totally take away from it's form factor. True, there are things like iTrip, etc. that are made to go on it but those are things that Apple wouldn't put stock into the iPod. They WANT to put wireless in the iPod, as noted by their job search for an expert in that field, and I can't see them letting a 3rd party tap into that area before they can put it into an iPod.
