I remember in the 3rd generation one the 8gb was different because some games said it required the 3rd gen iPod but not the 8gb one. So any difference this time around?

Nope, the 8gig, 32gig, and 64gig are all the same speed and can run all the same apps. The only difference between them is the size.

There is no 16GB model (anymore). But, yeah, no difference between all current models. Last year only the 32 and 64GB were actually 3rd-gen, and the 8GB that was being sold was the same 2nd-gen model as before. There is actually no such thing as a 3rd-gen 8GB Touch.
