Wonder if someone can help me out?

Just got a new iBook after my old age iMac finally gave up the ghost on me.

I have a full first generation iPod that contains a load of files I'd like to transfer to the iBook, but can't seem to work out how to do it.

Is it possible to copy the files over from the iPod or am I going to have to try to resurrect the iMac and transfer from there? I don't like my chances of getting the iMac back into the land of the living.

Thanks in advance.

This is not supported by Apple but there are many apps on Version Tracker that will do this for you.

Or use the Terminal to cd to the mounted iPod and copy all the files. Then re-import them to iTunes (this will tidy up the file names again).

Edit to add:Version Tracker search for iPod: The first 6 items at least do what you want!

Thanks for that - fast response, clear instructions.

I'll give this a try.

Cheers
