    i am the proud owner of a new 20gb ipod :D :D :D and i run windows xp :(

anyhoo, a colleague of mine suggested he brings his powerbook in tomorrow and donates some music to me for my listening pleasure - is this ok to do, and if so how?

it's not ok, but you can do it. windows formatted iPods will work with a Mac with no problems. not so the other way around.

you will need a 3rd party hack to move music from iPods to a Mac.

when you say its not ok do you refer to file sharing? because he was on about i should hear a couple of tracks, not like steal his entire music collection, i'm not into that.

am i right in guessing i just need to take the firewire cable?
