iPod ipod won't play protected media

For some reason my ipod suddenly will not play any track that I have bought from the store-video or audio-when I click on the track it just quits the track and moves to the next one-the same thing happens to my games-all other tracks work fine-its only the protected ones
I can not say whether or not they work on my mac as I am at school but I am going to assume that they do

any ideas???

try playing it in itunes, you may need to re-authorize it, it will ask for your password.

well after connecting the ipod to my mac the tracks played from the ipod as well as the computer but still wouldnt play when the ipod was not docked-when i tried to sign into my itunes account it asked me to verify my identity-i then tried to reauthorize my mac which it allowed me to do-yet none of this worked so I restored it and now it works-not sure what happened but oh well-
