i expect that, in the sunni polling areas, there will be fewer machines and people will be advised that they're in the wrong area, and they can't vote for various reasons.

THIS is the Democracy we're fighting for!?! Well, good to know they've learned some lessons from the Neocons. I'm sure the new Constitution will be very popular, and I'm sure this is going to help.

I doubt they'll need to do anything. 66.6% of registered voters voting against is a pretty high bar. If it's close, just lose a ballot box or two.

Looks like the Iraqis have rethought the wisdom of such a course of action:
I wonder who prompted that vote...

Not that I want to put Bush is a no-win situation.....

but going from a majority vote in favor of the rule change to a super-majority against. What kind of convincing was going on? Over 80 legislators simutaneously and spontaneously realized the errors of their ways?

Wow i could see how this could snowball into something really really scary and I think W is just the right man to carry it out, of course with people like Cheney prodding him from behind it(yes pun intended).

Hmm. I thought you'd made the connection earlier (hence my "genius" reply to your statement, which I took for being cold, sarcastic irony), but perhaps I was wrong.

This is Florida 2000 all over again.
