Is it safe to close the lid of my macbook while its running for long periods?

    Hi people is it safe to close the lid of my macbook while its running for long periods? Its currently hooked up to an external monitor now.

    I've had no problems leaving my MacBook running like that for 2-3 days at a time.

    Apple gives instructions on how to do it, so in the odd change you do run into problems from doing it, I wouldn't see why they wouldn't fix it under warranty.

    Exactly. If they advertise it as a usable feature and don't put any restriction on usage, then if something goes wrong they will have to take responsibility for it.
