Hi everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my iMac G5's (2.0 GHz 20in) stock 512 MB RAM to 1.5 Gigs. Crucial has a 1 GB stick for $139, while datamem.com has a stick for $105. OWC has theris for $117.

Has anyone bought memory from datamem? They are listed in the guide on mac rumors, but I want to make sure that a) the RAM will work in my iMac, b) the RAM won't cause any issues on my mac, and c) datamem has good support and won't give me any problems if the RAM is DOA.

Thanks!

Save some cash and go with this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231069

For $10 more than the Crucial you can do 2GB. I have this in my iMac, my gf's mac mini, and my mom's macbook. No problems. It has a lifetime warranty. Newegg won't hassle on a DOA. If you call them they will reimburse return shipping as well.

The Datamem shouldn't give you any problems though. I think it is overpriced though.

Thats not compatible with G5 iMacs (which use 184 pin PC3200, not 200 pin PC2 5300)
