Is this really a good idea?

    How long would it be? It would have to start at matinee time and run through to the evening - in those pokey theatre seats.

    I did go and see a play of it once at the Edinburgh Festival. The venue was Greyfriars Kirkyard - very atmospheric sitting amongst the gravestones while the Ringwraiths stalked around you in the dark.

    I don't know, I think I play/musical would be a waste, you would need a huge stage with hundreds of actors to give the true effect.

    If the main characters don't sing, who will?

    Anyway, I think this will be funny, so I hope its a go. I also hope there's tap dancing dwarves, flamboyant wizards, and the Frodo and Sam makeout scene that the movie seemed to hint at. :p

    I doubt it will be that good. Think "Les Mis," but with more special effects.
