I just read an article that the Foundation series is going to be adapted into a trilogy of films. They are hoping to follow in the footsteps of LOTR and stay as true to the novels as possible. Could be interesting.

But I do not see how the foundation series could be as close to exciting as LOTR.... It has been years, but wasn't most of the conflict in the foundation series political? Not near as much fun as the siege of helms deep. :D

Now, if they were doing the Lensman series as films, that would be worth it, or maybe the Night's Dawn trilogy, or perhaps the Thomas Covenant novels...

Foundation was a great read, but I don't think it'll translate too well.

Foundation Trilogy is my favorite sci-fi series of all time. Read them when I was in jr high many moons ago. I'd love to see them in film, but it will be interesting to see how they deal with the hundreds of years and constantly shifting characters.

Regardless, I look forward to seeing them.

edit: Is there a link to the info on the films? Who's involved? Has it gone beyond the rumor stage?
