I just find it very sad, that they want to commercialize all these holidays. The main Holidays are about Jesus and that is where I put my focus.

jesus is the reason for the season but the merchants hijacked his days for the purpose of selling goods and chocolate

...and the politicians hijacked him for votes, especially in states where issues are not, well, issues:p

I can already see those 4th of July fireworks going off!:D

Yeah, it's sad that religious holidays get hijacked for commercial reasons, but there's no way of avoiding it. Free country, right? The only thing you can do is celebrate what you believe in whatever way you find best, as long as no one gets hurt.

Around here they have just finished putting up Valentine's Day stuff, but no doubt soon after we'll see Easter stuff, followed by Independence Day, Haloween, and Christmas.

    Damn Commertialization of the Holidays.

Fortunately we don't have Independence Day or Halloween here, so we don't have overcommercialisation for them. However, we do have Guy Fawkes Day, which involves fireworks for those of you who don't know :)

I can't believe how many stores are already getting ready for Easter. It's not even Valentine's yet. It's like clothing and department stores - not long after Christmas they start getting Spring clothes out, and in mid summer they're already getting winter clothes out. :p
