iTunes 11 Compilation Album Sorting (out of correct order)

I've tried playing around with the sorting options, album artist and whatever, but cannot seem to get volume 9 of my compilation sorted with the other volumes. If you see in the screen shot, V.9 is at the top in the middle, where all the other volumes are below it in the right visual order, alphabetical and by volume number.
Any suggestions?

Sure. I'd be glad to explain what I did, but it doesn't make sense to me.

Of the volumes that were in order (1-8, and 10) the fields were blank for the sorting info--see the first screen shot for v.7. I plugged in the sorting info for volumes 10 and 9, but that did nothing--see shots 2 & 3. However, volume 9 was still out of place. It was only when I entered the sorting info for V.8 did V.9 fall into place! --shot #4.

I don't get it, but I suppose I know what to mess around with if I have a similar problem.
