iTunes 7 Process times?

How long has iTunes taken to process your libraries?

When I get home I'm going to update, but I'm concerned about the size of my library.

I have the whole 140 gig library on an external HD.

Any reply's on times for processing the gapless, album art ect...

and the bigger the library the better.

I'd estimate just a couple of minutes on my PB with a 22 GB library.

So I'm lookin at like...20 minutes maybe ? I read a few posts from people with overweight library's like mine and it was crashing, but that could just be an isolated post...

I'm checking my ipod now with a slow 12mbit usb2port and 30gb of music on it..


I've done 1300songs so far (almost 1/4) and it took me almost 2hours..

so..
If you've got usb2 480mbit or better firewire, the responsetime will be MUCH faster.
But with an old USB2 connection.. it takes AGES

an ipo is not exaclty an E-HD, but still..

SO it has to process everything on your iPod too !

my ipod isn't automatically synced (at least.. the song part isn't, the movie part is just screwed up, see my other topic)

perhaps if it's synced with the library it only has to check songs once..?

But it does take a while..

And then I'm only talking about the Gapless check..

the album art hasn't evne started yet

i'm importing my itunes folder onto my mac mini at the mo - 65gb in size (plenty of duplicates)

i estimate all bloody night! arrrgh 10 min so far

trying to find a program that will auto deleate duplicate songs
