    Hello all!

I just picked up the new 1080p ATV and am converting my movies to .m4v and .mp4
I've consolidated my library to a NAS DNS-323 and have kept the xml library locally. However, at this point I find editing any ID3 tags takes 5 mins for iTunes to update. The DNS is wired to an airport extreme where my iMac is wired to. Any suggestions or help on how to fix this or does ID3 tag adjustments take that long because it's an external library?

i use identify to tag my tracks before i get them to iTunes.
most of the time the files on a network file server when i tag them (they's where they wind up when i convert them). Over wireless it takes a few seconds per item to tag.

Thanks waw74, I've looked up a few fixes in regards to creating a new library locally, adding the media again into the library so that it's fresh...AND THEN consolidating onto the external, and that's the "fast" way.

Sucks that iTunes can't handle it properly on it's own. Reviews look good for iDentify2 I'll give that whirl.

I have experienced similar slowness when editing the iTunes movie metadata. I have ended up on editing the files with Subler (without moving any files around). It is much faster. Then I go into iTunes, locate the edited entry and do a "Get Info". iTunes then quickly updates the library with the new metadata.
