I stupidly set Software Update to update to iTunes 6.0.5 before I realized iTunes was frozen.

Frozen as in... stuck.
If I go to Force Quit, it will say "iTunes" in red and "Not Responding" in black. I click "Force Quit" for iTunes, and nothing happens. I could keep trying to force quit forever and nothing would ever happen.

The Software Update now can't finish because iTunes needs to be updated but it can't update because iTunes is open!

I can't stop the Software Update and I can't restart. I know I could hold down the power key, but I imagine doing so would have bad consequences.

Any help?

Edit: NOT FIXED! Software Update won't quit. PLEASE HELP!

Try quitting the process in Activity Monitor and if that doesn't work then pull the power. It's only an iTunes update so manually reinstalling iTunes once you've booted up should make things right and dandy again. :)
