Well I'm in the process of converting all my movies into m4v so that iTunes can recognize them. Whenever I edit the file, iTunes doesn't update the file with the new tags and artwork. I have to manually do it by readding it to the library. Is there a way to make iTunes automatically scan for updated info?

What about when I add a new file to the hard drive. I really don't want to have to keep track of what's been added/removed. Seems like there should be a way to set iTunes to watch a group of folders and auto update

Any ideas? New to iTunes as I am a media center guy trying to make the transition :)

Are you using the Get Info menu? I've never had problems with that not updating immediately.

If you add new files to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder, they will automatically be added to iTunes.
