Lion Itunes not working... sometimes it loads.. sometimes it won't and I have to force quit and restart my MBP.

Regardless, it always takes AGES now to load unlike on snow leopard.

    Any fixes/suggestions?

70GB library, newest version of lion and itunes.

I just did a verfiy disk on disk utility and it came up with "insert install CD or other disk" to repair... so i'm going to do that soon. can that be the source of all my problems though or is this something else?

I honestly wouldn't mind a clean install. My only concerns is:

    how do I do this?
how do I keep 70GB worth of music and retransfer it all (I do have an external HD which is currently used as a time machine, can I just get all the files from my time machine?)

Try holding the option key down while starting up iTunes.
This'll let you re-choose which Music Library the App uses.
I don't have a lot of faith in this solving your startup problem, but it's worth a shot before you go do a reinstall.
